What the heck is a Jawn anyways?
While we’ve known all about jawns since Hauger and his students built that first electric jawn for the Science Fair in 1998, you may be unfamiliar with this word. We have turned to Newsworks and NPR to explain how Jawn is one Philly thing New York can’t lay claim to. Jawn is basically a pronoun. It can be substituted for it, for her, and in some instances for him. Actually, you can just take out any word you were thinking of and insert jawn. For example: All the ornaments cost $5.00 but this jawn only costs $3.00. Show your Philly pride and hang a jawnament on YOUR tree.
