For this project, medicine students drew connections between how plants develop and their own personal stories. They designed, built and tested plant growing systems. After reading Buck, A Memoir by MK Asante, they wrote descriptive stories about or personalized letters to a person who has significantly impacted them and acted as a mechanism for their own personal transformation. They focused on making a connection between relationships, choices, events, and the types of outcomes that have resulted from them. This project shows how science and art, biology and English, can be combined to help students better understand themselves and the world around them.
