This summer, students from the class of 2012 are engaged in a wide range of exciting projects. The Bright Ideas team is piloting their lightbulb replacement service in several Philadelphia homes, while other students are working on retrofitting our garage into a functioning, energy neutral workshop space! We’re also maintaining (and harvesting from) our student-built garden, and continuing to work on our electric bikes, go-karts, and of course cars. Your support helps to cover start-up costs for these exciting, real-world projects.
In 2013, the Workshop will convert to a full high school with a stable revenue base. Until then, we are supported entirely by sponsoring organizations and individual donors. Every contribution counts. Individual donations primarily support project supplies for students, as we encourage them identify early on what they will need and to prepare a budget to address those needs. The Sustainability Workshop is a nonprofit (501c3) organization. All donations are 100% tax deductible. Corporations based in Pennsylvania may also be eligible for the Education Incentive Tax Credit, which provides corporate donors with tax credits for up to 90% of the value of their donation. For any questions about donations or corporate support, please contact us at development@workshopschool.org.
