Community First

The first principle of the Workshop School is “Community First.” We are striving to live up to this principle, and everything we do in school–from morning circle to group work–is geared towards fostering a collaborative, respectful, and caring environment. However, sometimes, it’s nice to get out of school to build community. On Thursday, October 15th and Friday, October 16th, the 10th grade advisories went on an Outward Bound trip, spending the entire day in the Wissahickon, taking on challenges that strengthen trust and communication between students. We learned about ourselves and each other in the beautiful autumnal woods, enjoying the crisp air and colorful scenery, together, as a Workshop community. IMG_2231
