What is Real-World Learning Anyway?
Hear from Workshop School students, staff, and mentors about the internship experience, how it connects to project work, and the importance of real-world learning.
Theater and Leadership
Led by our seniors, in this workshop we will reflect on, write and share stories about the importance of food and family in our lives. You’ll also learn about the Food and Family project, in which the senior class published a memoir/cookbook with all of their food stories.
Introduction to Screen Printing
Join our students for a hands-on learning experience in our makerspace. You’ll get the chance to walk through the process of making screens which you’ll eventually use to make your own t-shirt!
Introduction to Tufting
Join us in our makerspace where one of our students will teach you the craft of making rugs!
Introduction to Auto Care
Modeled on the famous Workshop School auto day program, our students give you a crash course in how to understand, and take care of, your car.
Escape Room: The Disney-verse
The Disney-verse. Once upon a time you were watching Disney during a thunderstorm, and then lightning struck your house. The TV started glitching, turned into a portal, and sucked you into the Disney universe. You can see yourself inside of the TV looking out. The TV remote gets sucked in and flies away. You realize that you have to find it to escape before you get stuck in the Disney movies forever. You see wooden pieces of Maui’s puzzle. Maybe you can start there.
Escape Room: Jumanji!
Jumanji! You discovered an old game with your friends and start to play it. Suddenly you all black out and wake up to find yourselves in a dark jungle cave. A guardian is stopping you from getting out of the cave and you must find the secret code to get the guardian to release you. Then you must solve the various puzzles to avoid being trapped in the world of Jumanji forever.
